Our three-bay automotive quick lube was opened in December 1997. We wanted a relatively maintenance-free floor and the contractor was supposed to have installed a red dyed, concrete floor. Unfortunately they put the incorrect color down and we wound up with a horrible shade of brown that did not coordinate with our color scheme! To rectify their error, prior to opening they had a red apoxy paint applied to the concrete. It was November, cold and the physical conditions under which it was applied were not appropriate and the "sealer" bubbled up, popped and we had a pocked floor for our grand opening! What a mess. We had been searching for something else for a number of years when I visited Automotive Flooring Systems' booth at an AOCA convention and saw a sample of the [flooring] product they sell and install. There was a variety of colors and styles available, but having had two bad "floor" experiences, I did not want to make a third. A friend of mine owns and operates the busiest quick lube in North America and I learned that he had installed the product. I inspected his floor after it had been in use for one year. I was very impressed -- it looked brand new! I was also taken with the product's "cushioning" effect and how comfortable it was upon which to walk and stand. It was a no brainer to select this company and this product. Having a legal background I asked a million questions about warranties for the product and workmanship. Every answer was satisfactorly furnished. Our shop is open seven days a week so the next hurdle was to figure out how to install the new floor without interrupting business. AutoFloors worked with me and we installed this over Memorial Day weekend 2003 as we are closed on Memorial Day. As soon as the shop closed on Sunday afternoon, AutoFloors moved in and worked literally non-stop throughout the night, all of Memorial Day and night and we were back in business first thing Tuesday morning without skipping a beat! It was fantastic. |
